How to Use Report a Fault

How to Use Report a Fault

The page is https://manjeprop-stage.culltron.co.za/report-a-fault/. It is the public door into PropertyCare for anything broken or unsafe in a ManjeProp house. A submitted form becomes a ticket with a reference. Staff can assign it, escalate it, log a repair, and close it with evidence.

This is a field-by-field walk. Use it once, then you will not need it.

Before you open the page

Know the property name as it appears on the site — the Saunders house, Varsity Drive, Malcom Road, ZK Mattews, or whichever you occupy. Know the room or bathroom in ordinary words. Have two photos ready if you can take them safely. Use a phone that will ring.

If people are in immediate danger, phone emergency services or SAPS (10111) first. Then +27 60 313 6961. Then the form so the record exists.

If you want a viewing or a new room, stop. Use properties instead.

Your name and phone

Type a name staff can say out loud and a WhatsApp number you will answer. A parent’s old number from registration day is how contractors wait in the road.

You do not need to type an identity number. Please do not.

Property and unit

Pick the house from the list. Type the unit: Room 4, downstairs bath, kitchen. Shared houses hide work in unnamed rooms. If you do not know the number, say which landmark and photograph the door.

Category

Choose the one that matches the thing:

  • Plumbing — traps, toilets, taps as fittings
  • Electricity — power, plugs, lights (do not open the board)
  • Access / gate / keys — locks, remotes, being locked out
  • Security — breach, stranger, danger — police first if needed
  • Appliance — house fridge, stove, as objects
  • General maintenance — the rest of the broken fabric
  • Water / leak — water that should not be moving
  • Internet / utility — house wifi, meter questions
  • Other — when it truly is

The page then shows a short “only if safe” checklist. Read it. Electricity will tell you not to open the DB board. Believe it.

Severity

Low — can wait a few days. Medium — this week. High — soon. Urgent — same day. Emergency — danger or major damage right now.

A flood, water on electrics, fire or shock risk, gas, a ceiling coming down, sewage in a living space, a night lock-out, a break-in: Emergency, and usually the phone as well. A dripping tap at 23:00: Medium and a photo. Mis-using Emergency hides the next flood.

Describe the problem

What is wrong, where, since when, is it still happening, what you already did that was safe. One honest line about “still running” or “street has power, we do not” is worth a paragraph of adjectives.

If this is a return of an old job, quote the previous reference.

Do not paste a lease, a bank letter or an ID. Do not write a novel about a housemate. The ticket is not a court.

Photos and documents

You may attach several images or a PDF. Phone photos are compressed. Still: a wide shot of the room and a close shot of the fitting. No filters. No keys. No codes. No faces in towels.

The help text is right: a photo usually gets things fixed faster.

Send, then keep the reference

Press Send report. When it works you will see a confirmation and a reference. Keep that number. That is how follow-ups stay attached to the same leak.

If the network fails, the form will say so. It does not queue offline. Phone if it is dangerous, then try again.

Urgent and emergency work is treated first. Routine work is scheduled. You may hear on WhatsApp when that channel is live. The ticket is still the record if a chat goes quiet.

What happens on our side

The report lands as a desk row with an owner and a date. Someone acknowledges. Work happens in the building. A repair is logged with evidence. The ticket closes. No evidence, no honest close.

You cannot use this form to reverse rent, reserve a bed, or open a board. You can use it to get a plumber to the right door.

That is the whole tool. Name the room, tell the truth about danger, attach the pictures, keep the reference.
